Welcome to my new adventure: stained glass!

Hi! I'm Lauren and I appreciate you joining me here! I've always been a lover of all things arts and crafts. I got my BA in Studio Art at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a focus on acrylic painting. After going back to school to work in the medical field, I discovered a new love for Vascular, using my creativity and perfectionist tendencies in imaging. I've worked in Raleigh, North Carolina for 10 years donning scrubs and surgical masks by day, and my art apron with safety goggles by night.

What I wasn't expecting while finding myself back in school was how this would lead me to a new outlet for art. An extremely talented classmate knew stained glass techniques and was willing to teach me. She had the skills to imagine and create any type of project - big or small. She let me choose my first project to work on together. I settled on a Wonder Woman logo, not considering how similar all of the glass pieces would look once cut. I was completely clueless but I'd say we were successful! Here is a photo from August 2011 when we first worked on the logo, compared to a picture of it today. It looks the same as it did over 10 years ago!

Fast forward to today. My glass supplies keep expanding and so do my completed projects around the house. After sharing my work with friends and family over the years, I want to share my work with you now. I hope the playful and bright artwork in your windows and homes will bring you joy like it does for me! Stained glass is truly a labor of love, with a lot of time and hard work put into each piece. I would like to teach everyone a little about the process of this craft, so stay tuned for future posts where I'll be sharing some step-by-step photos!

Thank you for following along, and WELCOME!
